Rental Regulations
Need to Know
**Maximum Capacity:**
- Manitou: Up to 1,960 lbs. or 13 people (including coolers and personal items).
- Premier: Up to 1,700 lbs. or 12 people (including coolers and personal items).
**Inclement Weather:**
In the event of inclement weather on the day of your rental, Floating Toy will determine whether it is safe to use the boats. If Floating Toy cancels the rental, you will be given the option to reschedule based on availability or receive a gift card for a future rental.
**Life Jackets:**
Children under 2 years old must provide their own life jackets.
**Pets and Grills:**
No pets or grills are allowed at any time.
**Check-In:**
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled start time to check in. Captain's meetings will be held 20 minutes prior to departure. Attendance at the captain's meeting is mandatory; failure to attend may delay your departure. All captains must participate in the meeting before the boat is allowed to leave the dock.
**Parking:**
Please unload your equipment and passengers, and then park in the upper parking lot across the street. Do not park at the dockside or in the bar parking area. Check in at Floating Toy’s office.
**Tubes:**
A $40 fuel charge will apply for tubes that you bring personally.
**Damage Deposit:**
A $500 damage deposit is required and will be held on the day of the rental. A credit card is required; please do not use a debit card.
**Cancellations:**
Cancellations made outside of 72 hours or those related to weather will receive a gift certificate for a future rental. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours' notice will incur the full rental charge. Rebooking will depend on boat availability.
**Rental Times:**
- Half-Day Rentals: 11 AM - 3 PM or 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM
- Full-Day Rentals: 11 AM - 7 PM
Please note that rental times may vary based on availability. Pontoons must be returned on time.
**Boater Safety Certification:**
All motorized rental operators born on or after January 1, 1989 must have boater safety certification. Those born before January 1, 1989 do not require this certification. All operators must be at least 18 years of age.
**Temporary Boater Safety Certification:**
Temporary boater safety certification is available after completing a short test at https://www.boat-ed.com/wisconsinrental/. The test costs $11 and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Temporary boater safety certificates are valid for one year. You must score 80% or higher to pass.
**Deposit:**
Any rental that leaves the designated area will forfeit the damage deposit.
